Introducing ELIISE MAAR, the self-eponymous jewellery label that boasts an impressive collection of contemporary bespoke minimalist jewellery. Based in Melbourne, the world-renowned brand uses locally sourced precious metals and gems that are handcrafted and made to last in excess of 90 years!
We had the opportunity to speak with designer and entrepreneur Eliise about how it all began through to what an average day looks like in her creative world.
You launched your contemporary bespoke minimalist jewellery brand in 2015. Based in Melbourne, you create unique and handcrafted pieces that are made the last in excess of 90 years. How did your journey begin and what was the lightbulb moment to launching Eliise Maar?
EM: Art & design has always been a big part of my life since growing up. Finding what I love and not having to feel like I’m working has been my dream. After experimenting with different mediums I found jewellery and the rest has been history. I absolutely love what I do.
Where do you draw inspiration from for each design?
EM: It’s hard to pinpoint specifics but it could be from an odd tree branch, a crushed paper or a memory from childhood. We’re the product of our environment and so are the design.
What’s next for you and your jewellery brand?
EM: I’m looking to grow my brand even bigger and open a showroom in Melbourne and potentially an office in Europe. Definitely some exciting times ahead.
